The lack of updates is nothing to do with the fact that I havent been working on the car, just that I have been too busy driving it to get around to updating the website! The car has now done over 2000 miles and I haven't had any major problems. There are a few niggles which I need to sort over the winter, but nothing too major.

New Dash (Oct 07)

I have finally got around to fitting my Aim MXL Pro digital dashboard, and I have made a new dash panel from carbon effect ABS as it matches my new mirrors and aeroscreen (see below). The dash shows: RPM + shift lights, speed, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, batt voltage, odometer and a load of other extras. It is also a datalogger and a whole host of other things I will probably never get around to using.

Mirrors and Screen (Oct 07)

I have also fitted different mirrors (Honda CBR) to replace the Yamaha R1 mirrors which were too high on the scuttle to allow my aeroscreen to be fitted. The screen has made a significant reduction to the amount of wind noise, especially at speeds over 40mph. I also think the mirrors look better as they are now much lower on the car.

New Front Brakes (May 08)

I have just fitted new Wilwood 4 pot Powerlite calipers at the front of the car. I needed a bit more stopping power, and it was simpler than changing the master cylinder! Basically forged aluminium calipers, mounted on an adapter block. Discs have been upgraded to 275mm OD and 10mm thick (standard 247mm OD and 12.7mm (0.5") thick). The new set up not only makes it easier to stop the car (getting lazy!), they look the biz and are about half the weight of the old set!
