Another month, but as I said previously not a lot will be happening for a while until I can sort out some cash (I have £100 to last me 5 weeks, so getting tight!). I did however find a couple of bargains which I think I can justify! (As usual bigger pics can be found in the gallery)

Front Wishbones

These turned up this month. Excellent quality, fettled and ready to paint. The welding looks good to me (I sure know its a lot better than mine!). I am going to give them a couple of coats of zinc primer, then spray them gloss black. Exam preparation is stopping all forms of play now, so they will have to sit and wait for a while! More pics can be found in the gallery.

Brake Pads

Mintex M171 - Now before you all go searching to find out what material/spec this is I can tell you. It is the equivalent spec predecessor of the now common M1144 fast road pads. The 171 compound is identical specification wise, but is asbestos based whereas the new 1144 is not (for all the obvious H&S reasons!). However I found the 171's on EBay with no bidders and 30mins to go so I grabbed a bargain, £5 for a full set of front pads to suit the M16 calipers. (Considering the fact that 1144's are £35+postage, I saved a tidy sum).

Front Indicators

The standard universal motorbike indicators here. The difference being that these are tear-drop shaped rather than the boring square ones you usually see on Locosts. They will need extending to meet the 400mm from the edge of the car rule for SVA, but I will be able to turn up a pair of black nylon or ali extensions on the lathe at home to suit that purpose. Another relative bargain on EBay £10 for a pair (Buy it now) and they are brand new and fully E-marked. Actually they are very nice quality for a tenner!

Whats next?

Continue exploring EBay for any bargains that are on my shopping list and hopefully I will get a few more bargains. Specifically looking for the bits to recon my uprights with! (Wheel bearings etc). Its looking like one of the calipers is seized up on my uprights, so I will probably have to get a pair of new ones from Brakes International (unless EBay comes to the rescue!)

Its exams time next month, so time to do some serious studying, then after that its all fun and games!
