Another month, skint though!

I have now got a price and details through to get my kit ordered, which will happen in the next month or so! Can't wait!

Aluminium Fuel Tank

Bargain this one. An unused, second hand tank, its about 600mm long, 250mm high and 200 deep, and according to my calculations holds about 5.5 gallons (26litres). Bought for £55 delivered, a decent saving considering a new one is £100+VAT+Delivery. Also got an inline fuel filter, brand new for £5 which is another bargain!

I am going to get a friend to TIG weld two peices of aluminium angle to the bottom of it so I can mount it to the chassis in a similar way to the GTS tank is mounted. Just need a chassis so I can measure it out and get it sorted!

Replacement Steering Rack

Got another one seeing as the track rods were bent on mine, it only cost a fiver so didnt break the bank, its also in very good condition, with no wear to the internals. The track rods are a bit rust, but nothing terminal.

Die Grinder

Having bought a compressor, I thought I would have a go at some DIY cylinder head porting. I managed to get hold of a new die grinder for £15 and a carbide burr for £5. I am not sure if my compressor will be able to cope with running it, but I will find out when I go home next week! All I need now is a cylinder head to attack!

Painted Rear Suspension

Finally got around to trying out my paint spray gun while at home for a couple of weeks, and put the compressor to good use as well!). The suspension components have been painted with chassis black paint (£6/litre from a local automotive paint suppliers). Its nice stuff to work with, both brushed and sprayed, and gives a very glossy and tough finish. Its doesnt need a primer, but bare metal needs to be roughed up (I used a 120grit flap wheel in an electric drill). Having seen the results from this stuff, I think the front suspension is going to get re-done as well!
