Well I am back to uni again this month, and so I cannot progress with the build much. But I did bring a big long shopping list back with me so I can spend this term obtaining a few more parts for the car...
Aeroscreen
I have decided to fit an aeroscreen to my car, as GTS do a very nice one, and its not very expensive. I think it breaks the lines of the car up a bit and enhances the overall appearance, and keeps some of the flies out of your teeth too, which can only be a bonus!
Seatbelts
Bought a pair of black Sabelt 4point belts. They are black with yellow trim, so should go with the rest of the car nicely. They are the simple bolt in type to avoid any potential SVA problems that some people have with the clip-in type.
Bullet camera set-up

I have bought a bullet camera, intended for use in the car. I am going to make up a mount to fit the camera to the roll hoop. The camera came from www.dogcamsport.co.uk who specialise in bullet cameras for various applications. Their service is superb. The cam came with a mic which is seperate to the camera, allowing it to be mounted out of the wind, so you only get the right noises!

I have also bought a Storvision digital (www.stor-vision.com) recorder to record the videos on. This allows up to 4 hours of continuous video in the highest resolution to be stored on a 1Gb Compact Flash card. This can then easily be transferred to the PC and edited. I am going to make up a regulated power supply for the recorder as it needs a 5 volt supply. This is fairly easy to sort though. I will make up a power pack with a rechargeable lead acid battery in to power both the camera and the recorder, the battery should last for a good 3 or 4 hours which is more than can fit on the memory card. I thought about hardwiring in the lot, but thought it would be wise to at least have the recorder removeable. The recorder and power pack will be attached under the dash with velcro to allow it to be easily removed.
Mirrors
I bought a scuttle mounted interior mirror since I have no screen to mount a normal mirror on and the standard Yamaha R1 mirrors, these should satisfy the SVA man I hope, after SVA I plan to use smaller Racetec mirrors that I already have as they are a lot neater.
Exhaust System
As GTS do not supply exhausts at the moment, I splashed out on a new MK stainless 4-1 exhaust system. AT £325 delivered it was a bargain really, and delivered in super quick time too. It exits the car above the top chassis rail, so this avoids any clashing problems with the steering column downlink etc.
